Annual Growth Rate for Disposables in Biomanufacturing
The survey results showed large jumps over past two years in a number of disposable areas. Growth rate for disposables in biomanufacturing 2007, by application
In 2007, membrane absorbers, tubing sets, sampling and mixing systems were the hot items. - Use of membrane absorbers jumped 62.3% in market penetration from 12.9% to 66.7% of respondents reporting using these devices (a CAGR of 127%).
- Mixing systems usage grew from 19.4% in 2005 to 73.7% in 2007 (a 54.3% increase, and a CAGR of 94%).
- Pre-assembled tubing sets and rigging kits grew from 49.5% in 2006 to 82.3%. Note that we have only one year data; CAGR for these devices was 66%.
- Sampling systems showed a CAGR of 54%.
- The fastest growing acceptance for these products is in pre-assembled tubing sets, and mixing systems.
- embrane absorbers and bioreactors reflect the trend of going to fully disposable process.
