In keeping with the growing trend of iPhone applications for every conceivable convenience, DASGIP AG (Juelich, Germany), a provider of parallel bioreactor systems at benchtop scale, has launched an iPhone application for accessing bioprocesses online.

The company released its Remote Control Suite at the Biotechnica, which was held on October 6–8 in Hanover, Germany. With the Remote Control Suite, users can remotely observe and access running processes using an iPhone, iPod touch, or notebook computer.

Data security is ensured through the implementation of established IT security mechanisms. Remote modifications to all process values are tracked and logged in a central database for transparency and documentation.

By combining optional features such as an alarm function, scientists can receive around-the-clock notifications that enable them to react promptly when deviations in the planned process occur.
